A LOCAL SOLDIER’S DEATH

News was received yesterday morning from a fellow soldier at the Front that Mr. J.W. O’Hara, a private in the 1st Yorkshire Light Infantry, and formerly of Barnoldswick, has been killed in action. The relatives, who live in Westgate, Barnoldswick, have not yet received War Office notification, however. Mr. O’Hara was some years ago employed in the cotton trade, and worked for Messrs. S. Pickles and Son, but he joined the ranks and saw service in India. He has fought through the present war from its commencement.
