Pliny Drake Clarkson (born 20 December 1898) was the son of Thomas and Ellen Clarkson, née Fort. Thomas was born at Silsden and Ellen at Addingham, Yorkshire. Pliny was the cousin of Private Thomas Henry Fort (18/679) (q.v.) and Driver Ormond Clarkson (267572) (q.v.).

WOUNDED AND MISSING

Mr. and Mrs. Tom D. Clarkson, of Greengate, Silsden, on Wednesday morning received official information that their son, Pte. Pliney Drake Clarkson, of the Royal Fusiliers, had been missing from the 22nd March. Pte. Clarkson was nearly 20 years of age, and went to France in January 1918.

Silsden Soldier Missing

Mr. and Mrs. Tom D. Clarkson, of Greengate, Silsden, on Wednesday morning received official information that their son, Pte. Pliney Drake Clarkson, of the Royal Fusiliers, has been missing since March 22nd. Pte. Clarkson was 19 years of age, and commenced his training in January, 1917, with the Motor Transport, afterwards being drafted to his present regiment, and went out to France in January, 1918.
