Robinson Waterworth (born 14 October 1883) was the son of Joseph and Susan Waterworth, née Garner. Joseph was born at Barnoldswick, Yorkshire and Susan at Stamford, Lincolnshire. Robinson was the cousin of Private Eli Waterworth (40863) (q.v.).

1891 Barnoldswick, Yorkshire Census: 20, Butts - Robinson Waterworth, aged 8 years, born Barnoldswick, son of Joseph and Susan Waterworth.

1901 Barnoldswick, Yorkshire Census: 12, Fountain Street - Robinson Waterworth, aged 17 years, born Barnoldswick, son of Joseph and Susan Waterworth.

1911 Barnoldswick, Yorkshire Census: 12, Fountain Street - Robinson Waterworth, aged 27 years, born Barnoldswick, son of Sussanah [sic] Waterworth, widow.

Robinson was married to Adelaide Sutcliffe in 1911.

BARNOLDSWICK – PRIVATE R. WATERWORTH KILLED

News reached Barnoldswick on Wednesday night of the death of Private Robinson Waterworth, East Yorkshire Regiment, who was killed in France on August 25th. He was 34 years of age and leaves a wife and two children living at 26, Melbourne Mount.

Above is a portrait of Pte. Robinson Waterworth, East Yorks, who as briefly announced last week was killed in action in France on the 25th ult., aged 34 years. He was a married man with two children, and was a cousin of Pte. Eli Waterworth, M.M., to whom a public presentation was recently made at the Queen’s Hall. Prior to joining the Army Pte. Waterworth worked at Crow Nest Shed (J. Windle and Son Ltd.). He went out to France in January last. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved wife, who lives at 26, Melbourne Street, the Rev. E. E. Farquarson (chaplain) writes:– “Your husband, as you have heard, was killed in action on Saturday the 25th August. We are all very proud of what he did. He fell while doing his duty, fighting bravely, and died for his country. A more heroic deed he could not have done.”
